For more than 30 years, Jeffrey G. Tauth, M.D., F.A.C.C., has been part of the fabric of cardiovascular care in central and western Arkansas. He is a board-certified interventional cardiologist and the founder of Hot Springs Heart and Vascular, and his patient relationships often span decades in both Hot Springs and Mena.
Dr. Tauth earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease before establishing his practice in central Arkansas. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Over three decades, he has treated generations of patients for coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, and heart failure, and many of those patients he has followed for years through heart attacks, stents, and ongoing care.
A Familiar Presence in Mena for Over 25 Years
Dr. Tauth has provided cardiac care to the residents of Mena, Arkansas for more than 25 years through the Hot Springs Heart and Vascular Mena Clinic. No other cardiologist has served the Mena population for that length of time, and his clinic there is by far the largest cardiology practice in the area. He and his staff travel to Mena for a full day of patient appointments three times each month.
Because of the amount of clinic time devoted to Mena, wait times for both initial and follow-up visits stay minimal. As a private, physician-managed practice, Hot Springs Heart and Vascular is not bound by the scheduling constraints of corporate medical clinics, and patients in Mena can often be scheduled the same day Dr. Tauth is in town, giving them a level of access to cardiac care that no other cardiologist in the area offers.
At the Mena location, the practice provides consultations, vascular and cardiac imaging, echocardiography, carotid Doppler, ECG, and wound care. Patients who need more advanced procedures, including stress tests, nuclear exams, cardiac catheterization and intervention, or peripheral angiography and stenting, are quickly scheduled at the Hot Springs location.

A Personalized Surgical Center in Hot Springs
In April 2026, Dr. Tauth and his staff opened the Vascular Center of Hot Springs, the first cardiovascular ambulatory surgical center in central Arkansas and the fulfillment of a long-standing plan to offer his patients an unmatched level of care. Because the center is entirely physician-run, it is not under the same constraints as corporate clinics: Dr. Tauth is able to offer procedures and equipment, along with devices from multiple manufacturers, that are not found at local hospitals.
The center performs cardiac and peripheral arterial stenting, angioplasty, and atherectomy, along with a full service line of pacemakers, defibrillators, and implantable cardiac monitors. It is a smaller, more personalized setting than a hospital, with concierge-level care and attention to detail for patients and their families from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.

Care That Stays Local
Hot Springs Heart and Vascular is the only independent cardiology practice in Hot Springs, unaffiliated with a hospital system or corporate ownership structure. That independence shows up in practical ways for patients across the region. Calls to the clinic are answered by a staff member at the Hot Springs location rather than an automated system, and patients with active symptoms are seen the same day, whether they are calling from Hot Springs or Mena.
“Dr. Tauth and his staff are Absolutely Amazing! You walk through the door and feel like family! Dr. Tauth is so thorough! He has amazing equipment and checked me over thoroughly in his office! I thank Dr. Tauth and his amazing staff!”
Individual results may vary. Reviews reflect one person’s experience and are not typical of, or a guarantee of, any outcome.
A Practice Built Around Patient Education
Dr. Tauth and his staff take the time to explain what is actually happening with a patient’s heart, not just what the next step is. Whether you are sitting down with him for the first time in Mena or coming in for a follow-up in Hot Springs, the goal is the same: a plain-language conversation about symptoms, findings, and options, delivered by the same physician who will be managing your care going forward.
Common Questions from Patients in Both Communities
Do I have to travel to Hot Springs for every visit?
No. Routine consultations, imaging, echocardiography, carotid Doppler studies, ECGs, and wound care are all handled at the Mena clinic. Only more advanced testing or procedures require a trip to Hot Springs.
How does a referral between the two locations work?
If Dr. Tauth determines during a Mena visit that a patient needs a procedure or more advanced diagnostic testing, it is scheduled directly at the Hot Springs location. There is no separate referral process or outside facility involved, since both locations are part of the same practice.
Is the Hot Springs clinic a better choice than the Mena clinic?
No. Dr. Tauth has personally traveled to Mena three times a month for more than 25 years, and many of his longest patient relationships are with patients he first met with in Mena. If you require a procedure that can only be performed in Hot Springs, we will schedule it directly after your appointment at the Mena clinic.
